MILKDRUNK is an original one-woman show by D.C.-based playwright and performer Cathleen O’Malley. Crackling with humor, passion, and wit, MILKDRUNK invites audiences along for a no-holds-barred journey through childbirth, breastfeeding, and what it means to be a mammal in modern America.
WRITTEN & PERFORMED BY Cathleen O'Malley
ORIGINAL PRODUCTION DIRECTED BY Elaine Feagler
RESTAGED IN 2025 BY Christine McBurney
SOUND DESIGN BY Brian Bacon
Described as a “primal scream from the trenches of first-time motherhood,” the play premiered off-Broadway at the United Solo Theatre Festival at Theatre Row.
“MILKDRUNK is to breastfeeding what The Vagina Monologues is to women’s sexuality: a curtain-ripping revelation on a world hidden in plain sight,” journalist Lisa Reagan wrote in a review.
“MILKDRUNK’s unflinching honesty, passion, humor, and love bypasses our enculturated taboos and mythologies around birth, breasts, and bonding.”
A graduate of the London International School of Performing Arts, O’Malley has co-created and acted in original theater regionally and abroad, including performances in the United Kingdom, Hungary, Denmark, and across the United States. Learn more at cathleenomalley.com/milkdrunk
